The first year of Hashtag Ensemble’s repertoire activities on its own stage at Hashtag Lab Social Institution of Culture will be crowned with the concert “Genre Roulette” on December 7, 2023 at 7:00 PM. It is also a summary of Matthew Shlomowitz’s composer residency with Hashtag Ensemble, and therefore the ensemble will premiere a new arrangement of his composition Glücklich, Glücklich, Freude, Freude this evening together with a soloist – the outstanding British pianist Mark Knoop. The concert is realized in collaboration with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
Since its inception, Hashtag Lab has been an open stage, offering artistic interpretations of various genres at the highest level, presenting programs without repertoire compromises – “Genre Roulette”.
A new arrangement of his composition Glücklich, Glücklich, Freude, Freude by Matthew Shlomowitz – one of the most electrifying personalities of contemporary music – was dedicated to Hashtag Ensemble, with which he has collaborated since 2016 (the ensemble has already premiered such works of his as Fast Medium Swing and Explorations Vol4). During the December premiere, the ensemble will be joined by Mark Knoop, who specializes in the performance of contemporary music, as well as musicians from the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra: Amelia Kowalewska and Henryk Kowalewicz.
