Lab Libitum is a double dose of improvised music. As part of the #impro program at Hashtag Lab, outstanding musicians from Poland and South Korea will visit: multi-instrumentalist crossing genre boundaries Piotr Zabrodzki and performer and percussionist Jihye Kim. In the first part of the evening we give the stage to the friendly Ad Libitum festival, in the second – Jihye Kim will be accompanied by members of Hashtag Ensemble. Ania Karpowicz (flutes), Lilianna Krych (psaltery) and Wojciech Błażejczyk (string instruments).
Dedicated to the idea of improvisation in music, the Ad Libitum festival discovers its new meanings every year, creates new artistic situations, presents unique events and searches for new territories of artist collaboration. Its mission is to unite artists of different generations and backgrounds in collaboration, creating a living laboratory that is a place of international creative contacts and artistic exchange.
In the space of Hashtag Lab we are delighted to host friends from Ad Libitum, and in the first part of the evening, at the invitation of the festival curators, Piotr Zabrodzki will perform, one of the most interesting personalities of the improvised and alternative scene in Poland, a multi-instrumentalist and composer.
Hashtag Lab is not only a place of workshops, concerts and exhibitions, but the only hub for contemporary music in Poland, whose mission is to bring together musicians from different cultures and traditions. In collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center, we invite you to a concert by percussionist, performer and composer Jihye Kim, whose fascination with Korean percussion instruments goes far beyond the realm of traditional music and moves toward completely new forms of expression. In the journey to undiscovered sounds, Jihye Kim will be accompanied by members of Hashtag Ensemble.
Program:
Piotr Zabrodzki – improvisations
Ania Karpowicz – flutes
Lilianna Krych – psaltery
