Rafał Zapała’s music is something more than the art of sounds. The futility of philosophy, a community of introverts, questions about the validity of existence, the content of music, searching for community and a support group – these are just a few themes that fill Rafał’s music. A composer, improviser, artist… a wonderful person who left us far too soon, in July this year.
The evening will be filled with conversations and music, mutually complementing each other in remembrance, stories, and reflection on what was important to Rafał and how we remember him: artists, theorists, friends. The conversations will be led by musicologist Monika Pasiecznik, solo and chamber works will resound on stage, and we invite all who wish to join in a collective performance of Dissolving-Meditation.
The event is organized on the joint initiative of Hashtag Lab and the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn”.
