We invite you to a performative concert based on the poem “Blask” by an outstanding Jewish poet of the early 20th century, creator of modern Hebrew language – Chaim Nahman Bialik.
The concert will feature: actor Adam Woronowicz, musicians of Hashtag Ensemble and the choir of the State School of Music 1st degree no. 1 named after Oskar Kolberg in Warsaw. The concert was directed by Katarzyna Michałkiewicz, the music was composed by Wojciech Błażejczyk.
The poem “Blask” refers to the Jewish, mystical “Book of Splendor” and is a story about the main character’s journey back to childhood. As a child, he experienced the mystery of transcendence, he recalls this memory and points to the presence of God in the world – in a special way in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature.
By adopting the form of a performative concert, we examine the relationship between music and word, and also explore the relations between the instrument that is the human voice and acoustic and electronic instruments.
During the concert we will hear: a string trio (violin, viola and cello), ethnic instruments (duduk, zithers, cymbals and psaltery), as well as an electronic layer, mezzo-soprano and children’s choir.
