AżTak Festival

AżTak Festival is an annual three-day celebration of new music, held in unconventional spaces across Warsaw. During the festival events, the Hashtag Ensemble cooperative invites participants to engage in deep reflection on the world around us, to practice healthy activism in collaboration with local communities, and to reconnect with their own bodies and emotions.

The theme of the first edition of AżTak Festival, which took place from July 7 to 9, 2022, was SUPERORGANISM – a utopian idea aimed at easing internal identity conflicts, ending the destructive rift between humanity and nature, and ultimately – halting wars. Concerts were held in venues such as: the Kamień Educational Pavilion (AVE VIRUS concert), the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden (SUPERORGANISM concert), and the Solidarny Dom Kultury MSN Słonecznik (ANGELS OF PEACE concert).

The 2023 edition of AżTak Festival took place from July 6 to 8, under the theme HOME. Just a few months earlier, a villa in Warsaw’s Stara Ochota district had become a home for contemporary music. That is where the concerts were held – on the summer stage, in the tomato garden, in the villa’s hidden corners and hallways, and on the Hashtag Lab stage.

The idea of “home” was explored musically as a space of many meanings: a space of safety, but also a “home in reverse” – a dark place where we encounter our deepest fears; and finally, a home as a space for our closest, most intimate relationships.

AżTak Festival 2024 took place from July 4 to 6, 2024, with the theme BODY.

The 4th edition of the festival will take place on July 3–5, 2025, and the theme will be CONTEMPLATION.
