“Co-llection of Choices” exhibited at Ujazdowski Castle in the Contemporary Art Centre Ujazdowski Castle in the period: 15.01—13.06.2021.
This is a Project that consists of several stages:
– first – focus group research – whose participants will select artworks from the Ujazdowski Collection
– second – answer questions related to the experience of art, ways of interpreting it and motivation.
Co-llection of Choices
The project has an intriguing name, based on a play on words. Co-llection suggests some educational element – an exhibition as a lesson…
And indeed… Co-llection of Choices is a project dedicated to researching how audiences perceive art. The public is to take on the role of co-curators and create an exhibition from the collections of the Contemporary Art Centre Ujazdowski Castle. The project stimulates reflection, surprises with juxtapositions of images and colors, and avant-garde forms.
Some elements of the exhibition are interactive. They also resemble ambient marketing, which is meant to shock, for example paint spilling across the floor from one room to another. Inspiration comes from various surprising motifs, such as the symbolism of the Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations – organizations providing medical assistance.
