The first day of the AżTak Festival will resound with everyday life and introduce us to an intimate space of feelings, relationships and events that we call home.
The Hashtag Ensemble improvisation collective will work on photographic scores created by band members and residents of the Ochota district under the direction of Kacper Bartczak. Photographs depicting tender close-ups of household items will gain musical life thanks to Marta Grzywacz, Ania Karpowicz, Paweł Janas and Wojciech Błażejczyk.
What does home mean to you? The smell of freshly ground coffee, the sight of a child’s drawing on the fridge, or perhaps mom’s shuffling in slippers? We will ask these questions to participants of June photography workshops, during which we will build primitive pinhole cameras. The results of photographic explorations in the nooks and crannies of our homes and memories can be seen at an opening reception before the concert. For musical adaptation, we will choose six images, each of which will become the canvas for a new composition.
During the concert opening this year’s AżTak Festival, we will hear the sounds of everyday life and a shadow streak on the ceiling. We will also search for the pulse of the city in the Warsaw panorama contemplated from a kitchen window. We invite you to our musical home.
